The Lions Club of Harrogate wish to thank the Knox Bilton for agreeing to site and service the latest Lions community based 24/7 Defibrillator on their premises. Members of the public have been invited to a special CPR awareness session at the Knox on Saturday 24th March when First Responders will be on hand to provide, and the Defibrillator in use will be demonstrated.

Harrogate Lions Club would like to thank the very generous people of Harrogate for their help, support and generosity over the Christmas period. The total donations collected over the 2017 Christmas period came to £5102 – This money will be used to support good causes and to help people in need over the coming year. We would also like to thank Waitrose, Sainsbury and M& S, Leeds Road stores for allowing us to have the static collection at there stores and also to Evans Halshaw, Harrogate for the loan of the Sleigh tow vehicle. Also huge thank you to members of the Harrogate ATC for their assistance with our round the houses collections and static collection.

Members and guests of Harrogate Lions celebrated the Clubs 60th anniversary Charter.
Harrogate Lions Club special 60th Anniversary logo emblem has been given pride of place on Montpelier Hill in Harrogate by Harrogate Borough Council. Situated in an ideal part of the town, the logo will remain in place over the summer of 2017.
The Lions Club are very pleased to learn that they have been successful in securing a nomination and being one of the charities selected by Pannal Coop for their new community funding project.
Each year Thorne Rural Lions run a Fun and Sports Day for people with disabilities or special needs. There’s lots of entertainment and different types of event to take part in, and if anyone is interested in coming down with us this year, or would like to find out more please let us know so we can start planning the transport needs. Below is part of the invitation extended by Lion Barry Goforth from Thorne Rural:
We are in its 34th year and many hundreds of disabled/special needs people have enjoyed the day, they receive a special medal which is to be treasured by all who take part and there are trophies to be won, all you have to do is turn up on the day and enjoy what is there for all to benefit from and remember for ever.
It’s a free day to all who come to enjoy the fun and friendship throughout the day, it consists of games and entertainment, to take part and enjoy also free refreshments for all entries.
